Journalist Mariano Slutzky houdt een leuke weblog bij. Zij laatste posting, quite political, gaat over the daily life in Oporto, Portugal:
“Are here any prisoners?” I kept on asking me this meanwhile I was walking through Oporto. People are there so extremely law-loyal, so “fifties-ish”. Everything and everybody seem there to belong in a museum.
The buses are older than my grandma could be. The shops, hair-models, the clothes people wear: everything is old-fashioned. Is that wrong? Not at all. It’s only that I didn’t expect that.
I talk a lot in Oporto, with one guy about how he fled ‘cause he didn’t want to do his military draft in the colonial wars in Africa. He told me about how anarchists were hanged in front of the Judges Houses in the centre of the city.
